The oldest boys’ choir in Austria invites you to an open day: From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. tomorrow, Friday, there will be the opportunity to get an impression of life at the St. Florian Boys’ Choir boarding school in St. Florian Abbey. The boys themselves lead people through bedrooms, study rooms, rehearsal rooms and the gymnasium and talk about their everyday lives.

Many boys from Wels, Eferding and Grieskirchen are also there – one of them is 11-year-old Manuel Kraft from Lambach. He lives in boarding school during the week and attends secondary school in St. Florian. “I feel very comfortable, you always have your friends nearby. It’s less boring than just sitting at home alone,” says Manuel.

He has been a choir member since this school year, and over the past few months he has been busy rehearsing for his first concerts in Advent. “I like singing, I’m looking forward to performing in front of my parents,” he says.

Anyone who could imagine becoming a choir boy also has the opportunity to sing a short song of their own choice at the open day. Choir director Markus Stumpner then determines the suitability of the choir boy.

Further information about the open day is available by phone at 07722/4799 or online at florianer.at
