The design hotel Spinnerei Linz will become the “Best Western Hotel Spinnerei” in December 2023. The new tenant is BW Hotel Betriebsgesellschaft mbH & Co KG, which currently operates ten hotels in Germany and an eleventh in Tulln since spring. “I am pleased about our second location in Austria and the expansion of our portfolio with this beautiful, new design hotel. After we took over our first hotel in Austria in Tulln an der Donau in the spring of this year, our group’s expansion in Austria continues to go according to plan,” says Managing Director Roman Schmitt.

The owner of the hotel in Ebelsberg is Linz Textil Holding AG. In September 2020, the traditional company opened the hotel with 115 rooms and ten apartments for long-term guests based on plans by the architectural firm 1 ZT on the site of the former Ebelsberger Hof.

Investing in comfort

The new tenants want to invest again in the furnishings together with the owner in order to make the guest rooms more comfortable and homely. A lounge with a roof terrace will also be opened. More employees should also guarantee better, all-day service. The collaboration with the restaurant tenants Giulio and Lenka di Virgilio, who have been running the Italian restaurant “Da Giulio – Cucina Italiana” there since it opened, will continue.

The hotel will initially be managed by Claudia Kohls, senior project manager at BW Hotel Betriebsgesellschaft, who has already successfully managed the Best Western Hotel Osnabrück as director, among others. She should manage the transition with the existing team until the management position is finally filled, says Schmitt. With the brand partner Best Western, the Linz hotel will be marketed even more internationally.
