The Lufthansa Group announced this. Travelers should then be able to send and receive unlimited messages and photos. Previously, usage was limited to 30 minutes per flight. Around two thirds of the machines on these routes are currently equipped with WiFi, the company says.
Streaming, emails cost something
All other internet packages on board, such as those for streaming or email traffic, remain subject to a charge. The tariff for these offers will also fall “by almost 50 percent,” Lufthansa said in a press release. AUA and Lufthansa list specific prices on their websites.
The prerequisite for free internet is registration via the Miles & More card or the Travel ID that the entire Lufthansa Group uses as a login tool. Registration is also possible during the flight, it is said.
