The winter service in Wels takes care of around 360 kilometers of roads (actually 720 kilometers through double-sided cleaning), around 50 kilometers of public cycle paths and around 140 kilometers of public sidewalks that need to be cleared of snow and ice. The grit stores are well filled with around 600 tons of salt, 500 tons of grit and 32,000 liters of brine. There is also our own system for spreading wet salt.
Last season there were 21 operations involving not quite 6,400 personnel hours and just over 2,500 vehicle hours. Almost 800 tons of salt and brine and not quite 220 tons of grit were used.
