“The days when you could park your car on public property at taxpayer expense are finally over”said Reinhold Kassmannhuber back in May 2022. At that time, the Gmunden mobility officer spoke about possible charging for the large Toscana parking lot, which is currently still available free of charge for car drivers.
Now this topic has landed on the local council’s agenda: On Monday, December 11th, there will be discussion about the creation of parking fees for the Toscana parking lot, the lido parking spaces and the parking spaces next to the “Berlpark” debated. The fees are due to come into force from May 1, 2024. However, a separate model is to be created for beach visitors.
Also on the agenda is the creation of tariffs for the use of public municipal land and the use of municipal toilet facilities from January 1st of next year.
