The three Romanians, aged 35, 39 and 41, had recently moved into an apartment in Taufkirchen an der Pram and planned their actions from there. The trio of burglars broke into a total of 22 companies and construction containers in the Schärding district in October and stole high-quality tools there. The value of the loot is in the six-figure range and the property damage is in the five-figure euro range. The perpetrators also stole a car and a large amount of diesel to get to the crime scenes.
The men usually hid the loot near the crime scenes. Only later did they pick up the tools, probably bring them to Romania and sell them there.
At the end of October, the gang of burglars were arrested as they were leaving the country and stolen goods were also seized. A 27-year-old Austrian woman, who made her apartment in Taufkirchen available to the Romanians and lived there with them, was picked up during the house search. The three men were taken to the Ried prison.
