Last weekend the U18 national indoor championships took place in Linz. As befits their status, the young athletes from the IGLA long life sports union from Andorf were well represented in the fight for the medals. Marie Angerer even won gold twice. The Schärdinger woman was unbeatable over 60 meters and over 200 meters. In the mixed relay, Angerer also ran together with Jana Reisinger and Jonas and Julian Mesi to second place and thus silver. “Winning the 60-meter competition under the eight-second barrier for the first time was the highlight for me. And then getting gold and silver as well is always something special,” says Angerer.

Surprising success

In addition to Angerer, Simon Dopler also distinguished himself. The Wesenufner improved his best performance by 15 seconds, stayed under ten minutes for the first time and surprisingly won the title over 3000 meters. Elena Schmidhuber from Andorf ran to silver over the same distance. The new additions Hannah Riedl (Schardenberg) and Leopold Nguyen (Diersbach) also won precious metal at their indoor premiere. While Riedl celebrated bronze in the hurdles competition, Nguyen jumped to silver in the long jump.
