However, the data collected by the portal “Betrugstest.com” from 30 political districts in Austria also produces a divorce rate ranking: In this, Mödling in Lower Austria leads the unflattering ranking. Statistically speaking, there are 0.4 divorces for every marriage.
Steyr is right behind in second place with a rate of 0.39: on average, four out of ten marriages end in divorce at the confluence of the Enns and Steyr. The city is the divorce stronghold in Upper Austria, followed by Wels with a value of 0.36. Couples in Amstetten, on the other hand, are more romantic. In the Mostviertel metropolis the rate is 0.25 divorces per marriage. Only one in four marriages breaks up here – the third best rate in Austria. Marital fidelity lasts longest in the Bludenz district in Vorarlberg with a divorce rate of 0.22.
