The details of the decree
The recent ordinance states that “the National Service of Comprehensive Care for Adults Deprived of Liberty and Adolescent Offenders is ordered to carry out the necessary administrative procedures for the repatriation of foreigners deprived of liberty by sentence issued in Ecuadorso that his sentence is executed in the country of origin or nationality of the sentenced person.” In addition, it was specified that “every procedure will be individualized, and any repatriation of groups will be prohibited.”

The prison crisis in Ecuador
