The 85-year-old German from the Ried district was traveling on the L512 from Suben towards Reichersberg on Thursday around 12.50 p.m. when the accident occurred: He wanted to overtake a truck in Dietrichshofen, a town in St. Marienkirchen in the Schärding district .

There was a head-on crash with the car of a 32-year-old from the Schärding district. The Schärdinger came off the road and ended up in an adjacent forest. He was trapped in the accident car and had to be freed by emergency services.
