However, it should be noted that these were elections with very low electoral participation. Of the more than 1.3 million eligible votersonly paid for the 5.7% of the register.
What will the new rate for SUV trucks be like?
The new rate will apply only to non-residents when parking vans in the French capital. The amount for parking would skyrocket 18 euros – $19.5 – per hour during first two hours.
After the first two hours, parking will go increasing its value. A six hour stay – the estimated time it would take to see a show during the Olympic Games and then go to a restaurant – it would cost approximately 225 euros.

This marks a clear difference compared to the rate charged to smaller cars, which only pay 6 euros per hour. In the same example, a 6-hour parking would cost 75 euros for the smallest vehicles.
Far from the city center the value decreases. In the peripheral districts of Paris, from 12 to 20, the driver of a foreign SUV I would pay 12 euros per hour for the first two hours and would pay 150 euros for 6 hours.
