As of December 31, 2023, 12,800 main residences were registered in the district town, and there were 1,100 secondary residences. The number of women exceeded that of men by almost 500 people. The vast majority of primary residences are single-person households (2,400), followed by two-person households (1,800).
The balance sheet of the Vöcklabruck Citizens’ Service also shows that the largest age group is that of 26 to 30 year olds, almost on a par with the group between 56 and 60 years of age. More than 5,300 people were married and more than 1,200 were divorced.
Vöcklabruck is also home to 88 nations (as long as some of them haven’t moved since the beginning of the year): 10,600 Austrians, 1,300 citizens from other EU countries and around 1,900 people from countries outside the European Union. In terms of their numbers, the Austrians are followed by people from Romania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Syria and Germany.
Elections and referendums mean special effort in the Vöcklabruck citizen service. In 2024, 14 referendums will have to be dealt with within a single week in March alone. There are also two elections coming up this year.
