Transgourmet, with around 2,200 employees, generated sales of 872 million euros in 2023, an increase of 16 percent year-on-year.
Compared to the pre-crisis level in 2019, Transgourmet increased by 41 percent, the company said on Tuesday. The number of employees increased by four percent from 2022 to 2023. Increased demand from top-class restaurants and a 30 percent increase in sales among major customers had a positive impact.
In 2023, Transgourmet was able to increase its organic sales by 19 percent and those in the “Plant-Based” sector by more than twelve percent. Dairy products (+20 percent) and frozen items (+25 percent) as well as non-alcoholic drinks (+19 percent) also sold well.
The catering wholesaler also includes the Javarei coffee roasting company, the wine and beverage wholesalers Transgourmet Trinkwerk and Transgourmet Cook as well as Gastro Profi. Transgourmet is part of the Swiss Coop Group.
