In Schwanenstadt there are already photovoltaic systems on the municipal facilities, on the roof of the old people’s and nursing home, on the sports middle school and on the roof of the construction yard.

The municipal Sport- und Freizeitanlagen GesmbH has now installed another PV system on the roof of the sports hall with a peak output of 120 kilowatt hours (kWp). The facility was financed with federal and state funding.

On the one hand, the PV system supplies electricity for the tennis hall, the ice skating rink, the sauna or the sports hall and, on the other hand, the electricity is fed into the renewable energy community in summer, thus supplying some municipal facilities (swimming pool, town hall, etc.) with electricity.

The municipality of Schwanenstadt has established an energy community with Sport- und Freizeitanlagen GesmbH, 67 percent of which is owned by the city.

Another PV system is planned for this year on the roof of the funeral hall.
