Prices of national products fell 2.62% in the last 12 months

The INE reported a decline between February and January, although the values ​​still maintain a positive variation in 2024.

The prices of the products nationals fell 2.62% in the last 12 months, according to the latest report from the National Institute of Statistics (INE), which reflected that the General Index is at 269.21, compared to 276.64 in the same month of 2023.

At a monthly level the values ​​of Internal market They decreased by 1.08% between February and January, while, in the accumulated of 2024, they register an increase of 0.24%, according to the Producer Price Index of National Products (IPPN).

Among the groups with the highest incidence, the INE placed the price of the dollar interbank on the 14th of this month, which was 39.18 pesos, 0.38% lower than the 39.33 pesos on the same day in January.

On the other hand, the decrease of 1.85% in the section Agriculture, Livestock, Hunting and Forestry, which had a negative impact of 0.57 percentage points on the general index. Meanwhile, the Manufacturing industry fell 0.78%, pushing the IPPN down 0.53%.

The impact of crops on lower prices

Agriculture, Livestock, Hunting and Forestry was one of the factors that had the most impact, with a drop of 2.62% in the last 12 months. The crops in general They were one of the items with the greatest price decrease in the last 12 months, with a decrease of 16.53%. Meanwhile, the animal husbandry had a decrease of 3.37% forestry It was the only positive branch of agriculture, with an increase of 9.18%.

In the Manufacturing Industry, there is slight stability at the year-on-year level, with an improvement of 0.04%, with the basic metal industries as those of a greater decrease, of 17.97% year-on-year; and rises as the manufacturing of the products non-metallic minerals, which reached 11.71%.

Meanwhile, the fishing recorded an improvement of 0.14% in the last 12 months, while the exploitation of mines and quarries fell 0.22%.
