Trainees implemented a tourism project for the Mühlviertler Alm at this year’s Buchner Apprentice Days: master wood builder Buchner’s apprentices built a hiking starting point for the community of Kaltenberg.
The information point for hikers was designed by Buchner employee Matthias Wurz. Starting this summer, the building with a covered forecourt will be used in the center of Kaltenberg as a starting point for hikes and will be equipped with hiking plans. The apprentices from the timber construction company implemented and assembled the project under the guidance of their apprentice coach Philipp Katzenschläger.
The Kaltenberg Tourism Forum covered the material costs. Master wood builder Buchner sponsored the apprenticeship work. The Buchner apprentices built a special piece of Mühlviertel that many people will enjoy as a starting point for hikes in the future. Kaltenberg’s mayor Alois Reithmayr and tourism chairman Mario Thauerböck with his wife Monika visited the Buchner apprentices at work and brought a strengthening Kaltenberg snack with them as a thank you for their efforts.
But it wasn’t just the hiking starting point that was on the program for the Buchner apprentice days. Casual wooden lounge chairs were also made, which provide Buchner customers with particularly comfortable seating to relax in.
