Large boulders fell onto the road along the lake, media reported. Some cars parked on the side of the road were hit by rocks and damaged. Since there were no vehicles at the location at the time, no one was injured. As a precaution, an adjacent house was evacuated.

Civil protection carried out a local inspection by helicopter on Saturday. The road was then temporarily closed. It was still unclear how long it would remain closed. Work on the road begins on Monday. A specialist company was commissioned to blow up the rocks and clear the slope and roadway.
After heavy rainfall, landslides are not uncommon in the area around Lake Garda. Geologists observe rock movements using technical instruments.
