Smoke was already pouring out of the apartment on the 11th floor when the fire department arrived at the house in Wels-Lichtenegg. It wasn’t possible to wait long – the apartment door was broken down so that a respiratory protection team could reach the resident. The 75-year-old was already lying unconscious in the anteroom.

Another respiratory protection team was able to quickly extinguish the fire in the area of the kitchen and the glazing to the loggia of the apartment.
The injured person was handed over to the Red Cross and, after initial treatment by the emergency doctor, was taken to the Wels Clinic.
