Forest bathing in the Bischofswald in the Münichholz district – Birgit Freidhager from the Caritas service center for caring relatives in Steyr invites you to do so on Thursday, March 21st. The meeting point is at 9:30 a.m. at the Christkönig Parish Church.
“Being a caregiver is not a job that ends at 5 p.m.,” says Freidhager, who is a psychological counselor. The stress, physical or emotional, cannot simply be eliminated: “Caring for relatives, worrying about their needs, the stress that comes with organizing adequate care, the sadness and anger that you feel when “When a dear person changes us so much, we often neglect or even forget our own needs and feelings.” Forest bathing can help you consciously get out of this hamster wheel. “Shinrin Yoku” is the name of the stress management method that comes from Japan and which participants get to know in this service.
“We use different exercises that everyone can then do on their own. We will bathe together in the ‘atmosphere of the forest’, as it is literally translated,” explains Freidhager.
Stress is reduced
Forest bathing also has a positive effect on the cardiovascular system, stress hormones are reduced and blood pressure is regulated. In addition, many other positive side effects can be noticed, such as the effect on the soul and emotional well-being.
