The sauna on Lake Traunsee is now in operation

The sauna on Lake Traunsee, part of the “Plateau Blo” project, was officially opened on January 18th. However, it was not yet operational.

As reported, the opening had been postponed several times. Most recently because the Gmunden district administration had raised safety concerns. The initiators, Simone Barlian and Sabine Pollak, now have a conventional sauna permit and a positive nature conservation report from the district administration.

First infusion on April 7th

This means that it could be pulled across Lake Traunsee in the coming months as a “floating island structure against exclusive property thinking,” as the organizers say.

The first infusion will take place on Sunday, April 7th: Michael Rieper, professor of building culture, and Lena Schartmüller, spatial planner at the Vienna University of Technology, are invited to the first sauna discussion. They debate with interested parties, among other things, controversial hotel buildings in the Salzkammergut.
