Netz Upper Austria: New headquarters in Linz reduces CO2 balance
Managing Director Manfred Hofer

The electricity and gas network operator of the utility Energie AG had previously been stationed in the new building line.

The location of the new location meant that around 362,000 employee car kilometers could be saved annually, said Netz-Oberösterreich managing director Manfred Hofer. 51 percent of the kilometers traveled to work were covered by public transport. Home office also has a positive effect in the company with around 670 employees. 21 percent of all commutes, or the equivalent of 902,712 kilometers, were saved.

The heating requirement in the new building fell by 95 percent, the final energy requirement by 77 percent, and the primary energy requirement by 80 percent. CO2 emissions fell by 89 percent. Not only the energy-efficient construction, but also a mild winter contributed to this.
