A week ago, LASK thwarted Salzburg in the title race with a 3-1 win. Seven days later, Sturm Graz took the lead in the table – and at the same time took revenge for the help against their LASK rivals for third place.
The victory was deserved because of the way the game went, but Mika Biereth’s “golden goal” was extremely strange after a serious mistake by Rapid goalkeeper Niklas Hedl: after a through pass that went too far, the Arsenal loanee was already annoyed with his hands on his head. This puts Sturm Graz ahead in the title race: On Sunday, Salzburg can take back the top position when interim coach Onur Cinel makes his debut.
