Details after a fire in an apartment building in the Innviertel: Girl (10) jumped out of the window

As the OÖNachrichten reported yesterday, a fire broke out in an apartment on the ground floor of the house late in the afternoon. The residential unit was completely destroyed by the flames. Thick smoke quickly spread through the stairwell. The first emergency services were alerted at around 5:15 p.m. A person jumped out of the window out of fear and was injured – it was announced on Saturday that this was a 10-year-old girl.

BTF Energie AG and the fire departments of St. Pantaleon, Wildshut, Haigermoos, Ernsting and Ostermiething were deployed to control the flames. The Red Cross and a crisis intervention team took over the care of those affected in the fire station in Trimmelkam. Tables and camp beds were also prepared, the fire department said on Saturday.

House currently not habitable

The fire was quickly extinguished, but…The house is currently uninhabitable due to smoke damage. Intensive ventilation measures have already been carried out. The community of St. Pantaleon has organized emergency accommodation for those affected.

A total of 14 residents were taken to hospitals in Braunau and Salzburg because of suspected smoke poisoning and fractures.

According to initial information, the cause of the fire could have been an e-scooter that was hanging at the charging station. However, the investigation into this is still ongoing, the police said in a statement on Saturday.
