The construction work had been going on for days, 250 men and three women from eight nations took part in the Landshaag–St. Martin, which is taking place this weekend as part of the European Championships. But the start was not a good one. The first training session had to be canceled on Saturday for safety reasons due to bad weather.

With the repeated, sometimes heavy rain and low temperatures, several riders were on the 3620 meter long state road from Landshaag to St. Martin im Mühlkries fell, including Svenja Wurm from Julbach and Andreas Kugler. There were always longer interruptions. Fortunately, there were no major injuries to complain about.
The organizers finally pulled the ripcord. The aim was to clear the road of oil and dirt and ensure the safety of the participants. “Whether for the driver, organizer or spectator, this is really painful for everyone, but safety comes first,” said a statement from the organizing MSC Rottenegg. They are now hoping for better weather on race Sunday. The next training run is scheduled to start on Sunday at 8:30 a.m.
