The 50-year-old American was introduced on Monday 15 months after his sacking from Premier League club Leeds United.
March, who moved to the German Red Bull Club Leipzig in 2021 after two championship titles with Salzburg, is expected to lead the Canadians to success at their home World Cup in 2026.
Canada is hosting the tournament alongside the USA and Mexico.
