After an agri-PV project near Dallingerstraße lacked a political majority (as reported, ultimately only the SPÖ was in favor), real estate officer City Councilor Dietmar Prammer (SP) presented a new project to the committee on Tuesday. The company Cleen Energy wants to build an agricultural photovoltaic system in the Pichling district, between solarCity and the Südpark industrial area. The approximately 100,000 square meter area will therefore be used twice, for agriculture and for electricity production. The project is being financed by the non-profit property developer ÖSW, which is active throughout Austria and relies heavily on the switch to renewable energy.
More on the subject: Negative opinions for the PV system on Linzer Feld
Positive reactions
Prammer sees the project positively. Such systems could make a decisive contribution to achieving the city of Linz’s energy goals by 2040. Grassland also remains unsealed. According to Prammer, the other factions were also willing to discuss. The rezoning process for the specific project is currently underway. There are both positive and negative opinions from the experts, similar to the project south of Dallingerstrasse that was recently rejected by the local council.
