The car driver overlooked a truck while turning in the municipality of Raabs an der Thaya (Waidhofen an der Thaya district).
The vehicles collided in the intersection area. The 88-year-old suffered fatal injuries. His 90-year-old passenger had to be flown by rescue helicopter to the Horn State Hospital. The truck driver remained unharmed. Significant damage was caused to the vehicles.
