“It was a successful season for FC Blau-Weiß Linz both in terms of sport and economics,” is how managing director Christoph Peschek draws a positive conclusion before tomorrow’s season finale in the Bundesliga at home against Wiener Austria (5 p.m.). In the last game of the 2023/24 season, blue and white coach Gerald Scheiblehner’s main aim is to give something back to his own fans. As is often the case during the season, the home game against the Violets has been sold out since Thursday. “We want to give the fans another win at the end.”
Fans are already excited about the coming season: in the first hour of subscription sales that started on Tuesday, 450 subscriptions went over the counter – a total of almost 1,000 subscriptions have already been taken.
The club will also set up a subscription exchange next season. Peschek: “We have never lied about the numbers. If a fan is unable to attend a game, there should be an opportunity in the future to receive compensation through a subscription exchange and to provide the ticket for this game. ” The club is also working on a new app.
The last home game will also be used to say goodbye to some Blue and White players: Tobias Koch (his move to Klagenfurt has already been confirmed), Fabian Windhager and Michael Brandner will be said farewell.
However, there will be no farewell game for the 29-year-old long-term captain, who will end his active career and start a new chapter at FC Liefering as team manager. “He’s not fit enough, and I’m not a coach who gives out gifts. I’m there to put together the best,” says Scheiblehner.
