Traffic jams were reported in Salzburg and Tyrol early on Whit Saturday. On the A10 (Tauernautobahn) in Salzburg, traffic slowed down in front of a single-lane construction site area. At times the columns were 28 kilometers back to the Salzburg junction, the ÖAMTC said in a release. The travelers lost between three and sometimes five hours of time.

The mobility club also recorded lively traffic in Tyrol. On the A13 (Brennerautobahn) towards Brenner between Zenzenhof and the Schönberg toll booth, the time lost was around an hour; in the opposite direction there was stop-and-go traffic between the Schlierbach Bridge and the Stubaital. According to the ÖAMTC, holidaymakers also only made gradual progress over the Fernpass (B179) in the Imst district. In total, we lost around an hour of time on the journey south.
There were also kilometers of traffic jams in neighboring Switzerland. The Touring Club Switzerland (TCS) announced on Platform X that cars were queued up for 16 kilometers in front of the Gotthard Tunnel. The time lost for drivers there was up to two hours and 40 minutes.
