Three experiences to meet and remember key figures in Argentine history while enjoying the best themed gastronomy.
THE CAPTAIN
The Captain is a themed still life and vermouth bar, located in the traditional neighborhood of Almagro, that pays tribute to Eva Peron. Inspired by the first era of Peronism (40s and 50s), the setting, the bar and the menu present a journey through the classic flavors of the Silver river. Among the appetizers, the fried or baked empanadas, the vermuteras and the provoleta that bears the name of the place (semi-seasoned provolone cheese, macerated in olive, oregano and smoked paprika, with arugula leaves, seasoned bondiola and cherry tomatoes) stand out. candied). Of the main dishes, those made in a clay oven stand out (such as the braised beef pie, with selected mashed potatoes, seasoned with nutmeg, a layer of smoked cheese and just a gratin of Parmesan cheese) or those that are part of the repertoire homemade from our city, like the Neapolitan or horse-style beef milanesas. The desserts follow the same line, with options such as the classic Vigilante (fresh and sweet potato or fresh and quince) or the vintage Charlot dessert (vanilla almond ice cream on a dulce de leche heart with walnuts and hot chocolate dip). The bar surprises with classic cocktails with history, based on traditional vermouths that can be ordered in a glass or jug, such as the Evita Capitana (Rosso Vermouth, orange and soda) or Leguisamo Solo (mashed lime, Legui, Rosso vermouth, ice and soda).
