Fire engine overturned during an emergency operation in the Innviertel

Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

In the middle of the night, the fire brigades in the Schärding district went on a major operation: As reported, an outbuilding of a former farm in the municipality of Kopfing im Innkreis caught fire. Alert level 2 was declared and ten fire departments arrived at around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday – including the Engelhartszell fire department, which, among other things, made its way to the scene with its telescopic mast platform.

However, the crew of the heavy vehicle didn’t get too far: Shortly after the Engelhartszell exit, the car veered off the B136 in a sharp right-hand bend and overturned.

Crew remained uninjured

“Fortunately, the three-person crew of the emergency vehicle remained uninjured,” said the Ried im Innkreis volunteer fire department. The Florians from the neighboring district used a crane to rescue the car. Together with the Schärding fire department, they worked for a good five hours to get the multi-ton vehicle back on its wheels. The telescopic mast platform of the Andorf fire department was alerted for the fire in Kopfing.
