He unemployment of the Copsa Workers Association (ATC) continues this Wednesday and will reach 72 hours, after the union did not reach an agreement after meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Transportation and Public Works (MTOP).

“We once again showed that the problem of this conflict is purely salary,” he said in dialogue with Subrayado Andrés Martínez, ATC delegate, clarifying that the force measure has nothing to do with the bridge loan of the Banco República (BROU), about which he trusted that “it will come out” in the coming days and will be used for debts from the last three years.

In this way, the strike that began at 2 a.m. last Monday will continue until the same time this Thursday, unless the parties reach an agreement.

“The company must pay wages, because it is a company that is regulated and has an adequate rate for the payment of salaries. “It is the third month that the company has not paid,” Martínez questioned.

They do not rule out a general strike

This Wednesday there will be a new meeting between leaders of ATC with the National Union of Workers and Transport Workers (Unott) to define stronger measures. “We do not rule out that this could become more serious,” the union member anticipated about a possible general strike in the transport.

The union assures that payment of salaries is not made before the 10th of each month and that even judicial withholdings are owed, as well as licenses.

It is worth remembering that in mid-April, Copsa SA declared a state of insolvency and therefore stopped paying, despite the fact that the MTOP stated that the company has the resources to meet its obligations.

Meanwhile, the BROU enabled a loan of 7 million dollars, which would be unlocked in the coming days.
