At 7:29 a.m., the Rottenegg and Eschelberg fire departments were called to the scene. A car had landed on its roof on the B127 in the “Saurüssel” section between Rottenegg and Lacken. The black Seat Ibiza, which had been travelling towards Rohrbach, had skidded in a left-hand bend for reasons still unknown. The car hit an embankment and overturned. No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
Rescue workers treated the injured driver and took him to hospital for a check-up. A towing company put the vehicle back on its wheels. Firefighters cleaned up the accident site. During the operation, the B127 was only passable in one lane, which led to brief delays. The firefighters were able to return shortly before 8:30 a.m.
