As soon as the Reiterndorf fire brigade and the Bad Ischl main fire station arrived, it was clear that support was needed. Another caller had confirmed a basement fire in the apartment building on Hubkoglstrasse. Other fire brigades from the surrounding area were alerted immediately.
The firefighters discovered several small fires in the basement of the house, which was already heavily filled with smoke. Four breathing apparatus teams set about fighting the fires and bringing the 20 residents to safety. One person had to be treated by the Red Cross.

The fires were quickly extinguished and the stairwell and basement were ventilated. But now it’s the police’s turn. Arson is suspected.
