A one-and-a-half-year-old girl scalded her entire right arm on Friday afternoon in St. Oswald near Freistadt. The girl was on a raised area next to a kitchen island near her mother. When she suddenly slipped down, she tried to support herself and reached into the hot soup pot.

The girl was flown to the Linz Children’s Hospital in the “Christophorus 10” rescue helicopter, police reported. The toddler’s entire right arm was scalded. Second-degree burns were diagnosed in the hospital.
