Serious diving accident in Lake Attersee: A man from Lower Austria (43) had to be flown by rescue helicopter to the decompression chamber of a hospital in Germany on Sunday afternoon in Steinbach am Attersee.

The experienced diver was with colleagues in the area of ​​the “black bridge”. At a depth of about 45 meters, the 43-year-old had problems equalizing the pressure. He knew that surfacing too quickly could be life-threatening. So he remained at a depth of about six meters for about an hour, the police reported on Sunday evening. His companions alerted the emergency doctor. The diver was flown to a decompression chamber in Germany by the Martin 3 rescue helicopter for examination.
