Mountain rescue and emergency helicopters were deployed on the Feuerkogel plateau late on Monday afternoon after a woman from Linz had an accident with her paraglider. The woman had taken off from the northern launch site at an altitude of around 1,600 metres in the late afternoon, but had problems shortly after take-off. For unknown reasons, the woman from Linz fell around 30 metres and came to rest on extremely steep terrain interspersed with mountain pines.

Saved by rope
Eyewitnesses raised the alarm. A team from the Ebensee mountain rescue service and the emergency medical helicopter Martin 3 were ordered to the scene of the accident. The mountain rescuers abseiled down to the injured woman and secured her, while the emergency doctor from the rescue helicopter Martin 3 from Scharnstein cared for the woman. She was finally rescued by rope and taken to a hospital for further treatment, the Ebensee mountain rescue service announced on Tuesday.
