For many years, the dance artists from the Hippmann dance school in Wels have been holding their own on the international stage – last week again at the “World Dance Masters” in Croatia. At the week-long tournament in Porec with a total of 10,000 participants from three continents, the 200 dance artists from Wels won a total of 39 medals in group dances, duos and solos, 15 of which were gold, 16 silver and eight bronze.
“Many of us dance in different teams, for example in the musical team, as well as in one or two production numbers, which was extremely physically demanding with the preliminary and final rounds,” says coordinator Claudia Hippmann. The participants didn’t see much of the beach, as a total of 78 entries were rehearsed for the Showdance World Championships.
This year, the students of coach Coco Kreissl and ballet teacher Svetlana Streicher were particularly successful, with their protégés winning a large number of medals.
The jury’s invitation for two teams to the prestigious gala events and the vice world championship title in the supreme discipline of Production Number crowned the successful championship week. “Only the world’s best teams were present, we are proud that our people are among the top here,” says head coach Jörg Hippmann happily.
