WELS. What a sporting event! With perfect running weather, the company run presented by the OÖN was once again a great success. A total of almost 4,000 runners and Nordic walkers took part on Wednesday evening, and the sporting event was perfectly organized by the Wels running team with Hermann Kaufmann and Franz Sperrer. “It was a super relaxed atmosphere, where the competitive spirit didn’t count, everyone was happy to be there,” says Sperrer, who was also pleased to see the many cheering spectators along the route. The participants had to run five kilometers along the Traun and walk 3.9 kilometers.
The company ranking was again won by Fronius with 532 participants, ahead of the Wels-Grieskirchen Clinic (400) and TGW (269). The Wels Municipality came fourth with 109 participants, and XXXLutz came fifth with 72 athletes.
For the third time in a row, the Thalheim-based company Rico won the apprentice challenge with 43 running-enthusiastic young participants, ahead of TGW (42) and Fronius (19).
The fastest runner was Ali Dibo (Caritas OÖ), who completed the five kilometers in 15:16 minutes, followed in second place by Lukas Meindlhumer (Hospital) and in third place by Christian Slawicek (Endurance Center). In the women’s race, Veronika Mutsch (Vion Invest) won in 17:49 minutes, ahead of Caroline Stadler (Traunkreis Vet Clinic) and Katharina Steiner (Wood Competence Center).
At the Businessrun party in Hall 20, people celebrated after the run until one in the morning. (krai)
