The Frauscher boatyard, originally based in Gmunden but in Ohlsdorf since 2012, is investing four million euros in expanding its production area by 855 square meters to a total of 4,100 square meters. The expansion is due to increasing demand, explains CEO Michael Frauscher. The company, which grew up with the production of electric boats, has consistently focused on luxury yachts with a modern design in recent years. The latest design, the 8.7-meter-long eFantom, was developed in collaboration with the sports car manufacturer Porsche and will be presented on Lake Garda in the autumn.
Frauscher currently employs 80 people. However, the expansion of production will create numerous additional jobs in the coming years. Frauscher employs boat builders, electrical engineers, painters, carpenters and mechanics. Seven apprentices are currently being trained.
