No stopping at the Urfahrmarkt area

Upper Austria is on flood alert: The water levels have reached their warning limits in some cases after heavy rainfall. Because the level of the Danube could continue to rise in the next few days due to a so-called “transit flood” from Bavaria and western Austria, a parking ban has been declared at the Urfahrmarkt site. The owners of the cars still parked there are being asked to move them away immediately. The police are contacting the owners of the registered cars, according to a press release from the city of Linz.

As reported, phase 1 of the flood protection measures in Alturfahr-West was already set up on Saturday as a precautionary measure. The Flußgasse (except for the access to the New Town Hall), the AEC passage and the access to the Urfahraner fairground in the area of Wildbergstrasse, Schulstrasse and Ars-Electronica-Strasse were closed. The situation is being continuously monitored. The city is in constant contact with the weather services and the relevant authorities in the state.
