On Saturday evening, 800 guests attended a pre-wedding party in the upscale northern Italian town of Portofino to honor Ambani’s youngest son Anant Ambani and his fiancée Radhika Merchant. Star tenor Andrea Bocelli provided musical entertainment, Italian media reported.
The famous “Piazzetta”, Portofino’s main square, was cordoned off for the celebration. The guests, including Bollywood stars, musicians and cricket champions, arrived in Portofino after a cruise of several days in the Mediterranean. A large dinner was organized here.

The actual wedding is not scheduled to take place until July 12 in London, but the celebrations are already in full swing. At the engagement party in India in March, the patriarch invited 1,200 selected guests to a three-day party of superlatives in Bollywood style – including Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg and former US President’s daughter Ivanka Trump. US star Rihanna provided the entertainment.
The engaged couple, relatives and friends arrived in Palermo earlier this week on twelve planes and immediately boarded the luxury ship “Celebrity Ascent”, which arrived in the port of Civitavecchia near Rome on Wednesday. The journey then continued to Portofino.
“This celebration is a wonderful advertisement for our town and for Italy in the world,” enthused the mayor of Portofino, Matteo Viacava. The highest security precautions were taken for the celebrity guests. After the stop in Portofino, where stars such as Kourtney Kardashian and the Italian fashion influencer Chiara Ferragni recently got married, the Indian couple will travel on to Cannes.
