Driver stuck on Ischl church steps

Wrong turn: The steps from the parish church to Sparkassenplatz in the center of Bad Ischl (Gmunden district) proved fatal for a German driver on Monday afternoon. The man accidentally drove onto the exit reserved for pedestrians and was unable to go forward or back.

According to the Bad Ischl fire department, which was alerted at around 2:30 p.m., the man was lucky in his misfortune: he was probably not travelling too fast and was still sitting on the floor slab at the top of the stairs. The exact circumstances of the accident are currently unclear.
