According to the State Police Directorate, a collision between the motorcycle and a car occurred for reasons that are still unclear when the 81-year-old car driver turned from a driveway onto the Mattseer Landesstraße.

The car was then thrown into a meadow and the 81-year-old driver was taken to hospital with injuries of an unknown degree. A breathalyzer test was negative. The motorcyclist was found dead. The Salzburg public prosecutor’s office ordered the vehicles to be secured, an autopsy to be performed on the deceased and an expert to be brought in to clarify the cause of the accident.
