Floods in Germany: Levels on the lower Danube are falling

According to data from the Flood Intelligence Service (HND), the water level at the Iron Bridge in Regensburg was still at 5.57 meters on Friday at 8 a.m. This is still above the highest warning level 4, which is 5.50 meters. According to the forecast, however, the water level should fall below the threshold during the course of the day. In recent days, the HND has measured water levels of up to 6.17 meters.

In Straubing, the water level was 6.80 metres on Friday morning, also falling, but still well above warning level 4. In Passau, which is prone to flooding, the water level of the Danube was 8.60 metres high, falling slightly, but also still above the highest warning level, which is 8.50 metres here.

On the upper Danube up to and including Kelheim, water levels continue to fall. Although the Danube in Kelheim is still well above warning level 4.
