On the night of Thursday, a 29-year-old Serb was stopped by a police patrol at around 11:55 p.m. in Etzelshofen (Suben municipality). In his van, 33 bicycles were discovered, including ten e-bikes in good condition, two e-scooters, various hand tools and a construction machine. When asked by the officers, the 29-year-old could not provide proof of ownership of the items he was carrying and claimed that he was only transporting them for his cousin.
Stolen in Germany
After determining the serial number of some of the bicycles, a check of the numbers was carried out, which revealed that the bicycles had been reported stolen in Germany. For further clarification, the Serb was taken to the Tumeltsham police station, where all items from the vehicle were subjected to a search.
An inspection of all items by the Bavarian border police revealed that a total of ten bicycles and an e-scooter had been reported stolen in Germany. All items were confiscated. The suspect did not confess when questioned and was subsequently reported to the Ried public prosecutor’s office.
