This traffic obstruction was unexpected: A 16-year-old from the Vöcklabruck district was completely surprised when he was riding his moped from Mondsee towards Keuschen late on Saturday afternoon when a small lamb suddenly ran in front of his bike on the Achenstraße. The young animal had previously escaped from its enclosure and was wandering around the municipality of St. Lorenz (Vöcklabruck district).

Lamm died at the scene of the accident

The young man was unable to brake in time, hit the animal and fell. He was injured so badly that he had to be taken to the regional hospital in Salzburg after receiving first aid from the rescue service. The lamb succumbed to its serious injuries at the scene of the accident, police reported on Saturday evening.

The boy is the fourth young victim of an accident on a moped this weekend. On Friday evening, a 16-year-old collided with a car in the Innviertel and was so badly injured that he had to undergo emergency surgery.
