As part of the ORF coverage of the UEFA EURO 2024, the first round duels of the 2024/25 season in the UNIQA ÖFB Cup were drawn today, Monday. Former LASK coach Dominik Thalhammer carried out the draw – and gave his former club an uncomfortable task at the start of the new competitive season: The black and whites have to prevail against Upper Austrian regional league team Guten.

City rivals Blau-Weiß Linz will face the Styrian regional league champions Wildon, while second division team SV Ried will be visiting Röthis. There will also be an Upper Austrian duel between Dietach (Upper Austria League) and FC Hertha Wels (Regional League). A long away trip awaits Upper Austria league champions Askö Oedt: The Traun team will take on Hohenems.
64 clubs are taking part in this year’s competition. Twelve of them are active in the Bundesliga, 13 in the 2nd division and the remaining 39 representatives come from the regional associations. The first round will take place from Friday, July 26th to Sunday, July 28th.
