At around 3:20 p.m., the man from the Freistadt district tried to replace a bolt on a silage bale wrapping machine that had fallen out. During the repair, one of the wrapping machine’s wings collapsed and fell on his back.
Lying on the ground, the man called his 47-year-old partner, who set the rescue chain in motion. He suffered severe back injuries and, after receiving initial treatment from the Unterweißenbach Red Cross, was flown to the Linz General Hospital by rescue helicopter.
