Police officer reported for sexual harassment

Complaint against a Mühlviertel official

This is already the second report against a police officer from the Mühlviertel region that was received by the public prosecutor’s office in Linz a few days ago.

He is accused of sexually harassing a colleague. The man is being charged under Section 218 of the Criminal Code for “sexual harassment and public sexual acts.” Specifically, this means a “certain form of groping,” says public prosecutor Ulrike Breiteneder.

Public prosecutor is now investigating allegations

The complaint is currently being examined to determine the truth of the allegations and whether there will be an investigation by the public prosecutor’s office.

In April of this year, the police officer was reported for assault. However, the case was dropped because the suspect and the alleged victim had exercised their right to remain silent, as Breiteneder confirmed.
